The Rio Dulce crosses diagonally the province of Santiago Del Estero and then flows into the Mar Chiquita Lagoon within the province of Córdoba.
The fishing area is in the vicinity of the city of Loreto, the sandy bed of the river makes its waters clear and although its flow is not fast, along the river we find slides, poles and other structures that El Dorado used to stalk its prey.
Fishing is done by drifting in rafts and catarafts, but given the conditions the river allows wading in several sectors, which gives a unique and different feel in the fishing of El Dorado.
The Rio Dulce can offer you unforgettable days, lots of action and captures. But it tends to be capricious and to capture some of its golden treasures can demand a lot of tenacity.
The Dorado forces us to be focused and attentive at all times, as in a
fraction of a second we can see how a yellow flash lashes out at our
artificial, surprising us, and leaving us with no chance to nail it or in the worst of cases leaving with our fly and leader to costs.
Dorados fishing in this river is to make precise launches from the
raft towards the poles or ravines, letting derive our artificial well stuck to the
accident of the river, to then make a new launch.
No doubt that floating this river offers us a number of advantages when fishing.
It allows to travel a greater amount of kilometers of river, thus being able to cover
more water with our artificial and reach areas with less pressure
of fishing to which it is more complex to access wading.
It is important to note that the raft allows the fisherman to approach the best sectors of the river without any effort.
The fishing season lasts all year, but it is in the warm months when the Dorados are more active.
